Ready or Not: Let’s Talk About TikTok
Isn’t it just a bunch of silly dance videos and misinformation?
The latest social media fad our kids are getting hooked on?
Shortening our attention spans, with dodgy data security to boot?
We are sure that you have heard some or even all of these criticisms when people in the Brussels bubble talk about TikTok.
But the truth is, TikTok is one of the biggest social media platforms in the world and more importantly, the fastest-growing one. If it has not already, it will start becoming an integral part of the communications mix in Brussels.
This is why on 2 February 2023 we’ve decided to organise a Learning Session to give you a general understanding of the platform, its features and how they can help you get your message across.
How is TikTok helping to fuel the Iran protests and other grassroots movements? What has it done for the recognition of complex topics like mental health and ecology? How can you initiate a conversation of this magnitude?
Our panel of social media experts addressed things such as:
- The value of TikTok (generally and in the bubble)
- Statistics, trends and demographics
- How does the algorithm work?
- Filming and editing
- Ads on TikTok
